| Customer Reviews: Super Set of Personal communication October 12, 2008 W. DEMEDIO (Oz) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little set can sub for a cell phone around town or mobile communication devices when travelling by multiple vehicles. It has a multitude of privacy codes which will keep out even the most determined eavesdropper. The nicad rechargebles last 30 hours per charge with normal range. You can communicate 22 miles over water and around 15 miles over flat or rolling land with ease. It even works great at the mall- you can split up and not worry about wasting cell phone time. They have great short range penetration through walls (several miles at high traffic shopping areas. All this for a one time charge less than one month's basic cell phone usage fee plus maybe a cent to recharge make these a great deal. If people only knew, they would throw out their cell phones or at least save money using them a lot less. They are great expedition companions when hiking, hunting, camping, or anywhere cell phone service is nonexistent. You can check in hourly or as needed with your buddies to make sure everything is a-ok.They are a heck of a lot less fragile than a cell phone and can be used in tandem with any other GMRS transciever. All around, these are an awesome set of communication pieces. A++ all the way. The seller is superb.
